When we delivered food to Grandma Ney, she suddenly burst into tears. We gently asked what happened, and she said:
“I am just emotional, because someone cares about me.”
Then she shared her story.
Many years ago, her husband took a second wife and moved her, the first wife, from the big family house into a tiny hut nearby.
Her husband has long passed away, and the children of the second wife, who still live in the large house, don’t care about her at all.
She feels like a stranger on the land she once shared with her family. And she has nowhere else to go.
She lives just a few steps away from a house full of relatives, yet she is completely alone.
