They were incredibly happy to see me, especially Grandma Kul. Because of the trauma she experienced living for many years with an abusive husband, her emotions tend to be very intense.
Every time she sees me, she hugs me so tightly that I can barely breathe. Next time, I’ll gently let her know she doesn’t need to squeeze me with all her strength, I still want to stay alive😅
🚽 The surprising reality
And here’s something we only recently learned: none of the houses have a toilet. Not a single one. For years, they’ve been going out to the fields whenever they need to use the bathroom.
So our first priority now is to install proper toilets for them, something so basic, yet so essential for their comfort and dignity.
